rileyI typically apply a combination of Neuromuscular Therapy, Swedish Massage, and Myofascial Release to increase the flow of blood, oxygen and nutrients to the soft tissues in order to promote healing and relaxation.

  • For a detailed description of each of these modalities, please see definitions below:

*Neuromuscular / Trigger Point Therapy: A trigger point is a tight area within muscle tissue that causes pain in other parts of the body.  Trigger point therapy is specifically designed to alleviate the source of the pain through cycles of isolated pressure and release.

*Myofascial Release: Myofascia is the connective tissue (fascia) that surrounds and covers all your muscles. Myofascial Release combines stretching and sustained pressure and various massage strokes to relax the fascia throughout the body and help treat chronic pain.

*Cupping Massage:  During a cupping session, suction cups of varying sizes are placed on the body. The suction draws stagnant blood to the surface of the skin and improves blood circulation through the tissues.  Benefits include:  faster healing of damaged tissues, detoxification, relaxation, pain relief, and younger looking skin (gentle facial cupping & massage promotes natural collagen stimulation–reducing the appearance of wrinkles and other signs of aging).

*Swedish / Relaxation Massage: Swedish massage involves the application of long gliding strokes, friction, kneading and tapping movements on the soft tissues of the body. Sometimes passive or active joint movements are also used.

*Pregnancy Massage: Studies indicate that massage therapy performed during pregnancy can reduce anxiety, decrease symptoms of depression, relieve muscle aches and joint pains, and improve labor outcomes and newborn health.  –This is a relaxation massage. (Must be beyond first trimester of pregnancy).

FEES:  $85 per 60 minute session; $120 per 90 minute session.
